Anybody in the know on which bank or credit union has the best rates?

Recent, not what deal you got in 1976

If buying new seems they have had the best rates lately. Pick your manufacturer and see what they are offering. Havent used a credit union in a while but Denton teachers was always very competitive.

If new, dealer/manufacturer. I have a car financed with DATCU, the rate is good but their online services are severely lacking. Definitely wouldnt use them again.

City Credit Union has been good on cars. Not for banking.

1.99 for 36 months.

New or used car? I have seen CU do 1.9 on a used 2019 with low miles they considered it a new car. So far as Used cars Randolph Brooks has been hard to beat.

Cash is a good way to go for those that lack budget discipline, but financially, not really the best move. I got a new truck 2015, got 1.99% financing at Intouch Credit Union. I could have paid cash, but why use cash to save 1.99% when you can invest it and earn much much more.

The dealer will make a better deal if you finance through them during the purchase. Then you can refi through a credit union later to get a better rate. The dealer will sometimes ask that you not refi for X amount of months, but they can't force you not to.

I got 2% on wife's SUV and 2.9% on my truck, both through Wells Fargo. Had to request the dealership to quote them as directly through them was much higher.

We considered paying cash for the wifes new ride. It boiled down to the fact that taking $50,000 out of our funds to save $800 a month wasnt a good move considering that account is earning 22% right now. With todays low interest rates for financing and high rates for investments, it doesnt make any since to take money out of investments to save what little interest you spend on the vehicle loan.

I just bought a new Dodge, and Texans Credit Union was 3.25% 2 weeks ago for 36+ months. The dealership was higher than that. I didn't use either.
