As we struggle in our home (wife and 2 college boys) with who likes and doesn't like which BBQ sauce, the Baby Back's I do on my electric Masterbuilt are usually done via the 3-2-1 method and finished dry with the eater sauce'ing as they prefer, post-cook.

I was searching around for a different recipe this past weekend and came upon adding a procedure for the 2 hour wrapped cook. Add a layer of brown sugar on the foil (not solid, but generous) the same size as the ribs, drizzle some honey over that, add some apple juice, place the ribs meat down, wrap and cook.

Man oh man... They were without a doubt the best tasting ribs I've ever done and maybe eaten. I also spray 'em about every 30 minutes during the 3 & 1 periods with Apple Juice/Apple Cider Vinegar/Water mixture.

Give it a try on your next cook.

I do the butter and honey when I wrap as my wife likes the sweet and savory. I wanted to do brown sugar as well on this past cook I did, but we didn't have any brown sugar to use.

sounds similar to what I do on the ones I separate out for my wife but I just do it on top with the meat side up. She loves the sweetness (and over cooked) fall off the bone ... I prefer just the dry rub and a little tug on the bone.

Yeah as does my wife, I am trying to find that sweet spot of bite off and fall off the bone area.

I simply make a rub with salt, brown sugar, cayenne, and garlic powder.

I made these tonight the quick way. Gotta say, they fall off the bone and taste great. Probably wouldn't win any competitions but they are really good and fairly easy to put together if u have about 3 hours to prep before u want to eat 👍🏼

Fall off the Bone Ribs

Pork baby backs

Seasoning

1/4 C salt
1/8 C brown sugar
1 Tbsp paprika
1 Tbsp black pepper
1/2 Tbsp chili powder

Remove membrane and coat ribs liberally with seasoning. Add a little less than 1/4 C of water and some liquid smoke and seal tightly in 2-layers of heavy duty aluminum foil. Put on smoker or oven for 2-2.5 hours at 275°.

Remove when they reach 200° and let rest for 10-15 min inside foil. Put on charcoal or gas grill for 4-5 min per side and cost with bbq sauce to finish.

I like chili powder on mine too. Kick it up with some cayenne. Will keep the kids off.

The chili powder is loaded with paprika. You can skip the paprika if you don't have it.
