Like others, Johnston & Murphy. I also have some of the new Cole Haan Zereo Grand when I can get away with those. Best advise is get multiple quality shoes and rotate wearing them and they will last. I also have multiple dress boots they I wear with suits. All just depends on my audience for the day. But for classic wingtip, hard to beat J&M.

To see how to dress, stop in at SMU, then on to Brooks Brothers

Our dress code excludes boots and rubber soled dress shoes, unfortunately

The idiot HR Executive that made that dress code decision would get an earful from me. I've giving presentations to Fortune 100 board rooms on multiple occasions and never thought twice about wearing a nice pair of boots with my suit. Even at global events in Europe and Asia. I think you should get some co-workers to pitch in and send your CEO a pair of Lucchese Gators for Christmas.

Just how conservative my company owners where/is, we just dropped ties last year. For context car allowance you could only drive a four door American sedan no leather, no chrome for the longest time.

I fought it the first 10 years, I no longer even consider it a big deal

The SMU/TCU gway fashionistas are legendary.

Luckily them frat boyz didnt show up at the Byron Nelson this year due to the rain and bitter cold.

Their outfits could not weather the elements. I saw a few drunk ponies slippin and mudd slidin wearing Ferrari loafers and skinny white capri shorts. I overheard one dudette saying: damn, should have worn my crocs.

Unfortunately both SMU/TCU sorority drunk Boyz made it in great numbers at the Colonial bang
Them too were slippin and slidin, over empty ultra lights that is.

This Country is Great!

I concur. Either working from a computer table or standing in the machine room all day Ecco's have prevented back and joint issues. Made with a European concept of shoes instead of American.

Follow up.

Got me some Johnston n Murphy. Awesome shoes. Very comfortable.
It wasn’t easy paying 189 bucks for a pair shoes, but now worth it.

Allen Edmonds get on their website and watch for sales. I paid $170 for mine and they're very comfortable. I'm not a small man and I have to be picky about footwear.

I wear handmade Blackjack boots if dressing up, wouldn't be caught dead in a pair of penny loafers or whatever you guys are talking about.

Even if you had a really good job that mandated it? I prefer boots as well, but there are times they will not be what I have to wear.

OP, look at Johnston Murphy, they are good.

To me boots do not look good with a suit, at all. Buy a good pair of dress shoes and they'll last a long time!

Merrell makes a few "in betweeners".....dress casuals. Super comfortable.
Maybe the Vue Lace models.

Check 'em.
