IMO, this thing is SWEET, I'll shoot it today against a NF SHV and a leupold 4.5-14 le.

I have to set my scopes back so I can get the full FOV when at high magnification. Looks goofy but works for my short LOP

^^^^ Please forgive me of my ignorance, but why the emoji's due to it having the MOAR reticle? Sincere question as I am looking at purchasing this same scope.

FWIW, we received a call yesterday from NF letting us know that more of these NX8's are on the way to us.
After filling all pre-orders we will have some left over:

C622 NX8 2.5-20x50 MOAR
&
C624 NX8 4-32x50 MOAR

So if you're interested please give us a call and we can get one on the way to you

Many shooters prefer Mils over MOA.

Because Mil is easier.

Buzz doesn't want to lose his D.A.L. title, so he sticks with MOA.

Because I'm a MIL guy, and when he goes to sell it here in a few months (weeks, days?) at a steep loss I won't be in the running! banana

I'm yanking his chain. That's an awesome scope, wish I had a reason to afford one similar to it (but in MILs!).

Thanks Judd, it is typical Nightforce. Shot with it today , I love it

Corps2010, its cool, I catch allot of chit on here and dish out my share. Kinda like a running gun battle sometimes.

tit for tat

all I know is when I clicked it 4 times today, bullet impact moved an inch. makes sense to my American Brain.

Why talk in terms of inches OR millimeters when there is a calibrated ruler 3 inches in front of your face?

It's not the shooter, it's more the spotter.

I'm not talking about you, JG, dee, etc aka guys that play the tactical game because y'all are the exception and not the standard.

Example to illustrate my point....You are sitting in a deer blind and a deer walks out at 300y you shoot and miss right how is the guy sitting next to you going to call your miss? He's going to say you were "A foot high", "Six inches over his back", "Four inches left", etc....you get the point and with an MOA scope average Joe can easily equate that but to convert that into MILs because not everyone has that skill at split second times.

I know both but I'm MUCH better at MOA than MIL because I shoot MOA scopes a lot more than I do a MIL scope and I don't use MIL enough that I can quickly convert 3.4 MILs to MOA in my head. My point is for the average Joe, MOA is the better system...if you run in circles where guys talk MILs then by all means MIL is the better choice but that crowd is the minority not the majority that some here believe it is.

90% of my metric, 'Merica, MIL, etc trash talking is no more than that....trash talk and more times than not it's pointed at the Fireman than anyone else...we have that friendship where if we ain't giving each other crap then something's probably wrong grin

It doesn't make a hill of beans difference in the outcome, as they're both simply units of measurement. That's it. You can accomplish the same thing with either system. I personally prefer the mil/mil setup, but realize it's personal preference.

That might be applicable to some on here but you can't refute my example...because you know it's true wink

Now, who was it that looked foolish? nidea

I don't know Judd or JG from Adam, but I do know (even though we're through with that now) I've had at least 150 hunters in camps over the last 15-16 years. This is worth repeating as well, and IMO. I've never once told a hunter they've missed by any other means, and I've never seen a spotting scope on a hunt that had a mil reticle in it, which would seem mandatory if you're going to tell a hunter he missed by "x" mils.........

And that mindset is why those foot high, six inches over his back, four inches left misses, gut shots, and jaws shot off happens in the first place. It is the wrong type of thinking, and clear evidence of shots that never should have been taken in the first place.

That's true whether your shooting mils or moa. If I told a mule deer hunter he missed by .2 mils he'd look at me like I was a unicorn.

Right.

And I have texted, typed here, answered emails, talked on the phone, and posted on my own website how wind is easier to manage in Mils. I am not inclined to do it again, for you.

He would look at you funny if he was in MOA. So convert it to MOA for him. I do it every month for the MOA shooters that come to my place. But I make them call their wind at the end of the day. "What is the wind direction? What do you think the wind speed is?" "Ok, how much wind do you need to hold, then?" In MOA I often get silence, then I give the answer to them in MOA. In Mil I often get an answer, and more often than not, it is correct.

What does that tell you?

Nevermind, you'll call me a liar, or argue with me no matter what, so it doesn't matter.
