I do not believe today's actors can address the issues in the film in the way it was made in the original. None of the actors were alive during WWII, while in the original movie, several actually served in combat.

Dennis Quaid and Woody Harrelson too. Looking forward to it.

By the way, my grandfather served on the U.S.S. Midway following the war in the Atlantic Fleet...

The original was very good. Another good one was Tora Tora Tora.

Hope this one isn't a love story like Pear Harbor with Ben Affleck was.

If Hollywood leaves out the romance and the political correctness....might be one to see.

My brother and his wife took my step-grandmother to Hawaii. As they were looking over the site of the sunken Arizona, Japanese tourists everywhere, step-grandmother exclaims "GD Japs!"

Be hard to beat the original.....



My guess is it will be more Hollywood than Midway.....we'll see.....

It may be a good movie, but I saw the original in the theater when it came out and many times since then, and it will be tough to beat that one. Regardless of how good it ends up being, it's just another example of Hollywood being unable to come up with an original idea.

It will be best picture at the oscars hands down, nobody will beat that, nobody.

I have hope it will be better than, or at least as good as, the original. Heck, while different genres, the modern True Grit is way better than its original. We'll see.

Hollywood can't come up with anything New on their own they are Re-making everything!

Will be a challenge for sure, the original cast had the fresh emotions from living thru that time, whether they served or not. I will watch it when it comes out tho.

Trailer looks good and I will most likely watch it. Another fan of the original here too, so we shall see how it compares.

I was really hoping this movie would be like a huge summertime blockbuster with great action, graphics, and acting. I got excited until i saw that Dennis Quaid was in it. He's a decent actor and all, but it just seems that every movie he acts in turns out to be a B-Grade, popcorn flick, movie at best, and I am hoping for so much more out of this one. Who knows, hopefully its Grade A movie making and we all love it.
