The Padre Isles Cc is closed? Did it get washed out by the hurricane? My son played in a jr golf tournament about 20 years ago. It was a tough little course. Lots of wind and water.

We had a great time but holy moley I have never seen that many people on the beach, it was packed!!!
We did take out from the Beach & Station Street Grill for Friday evening, called and it was done in about 20 minutes. I had my heart set on their gumbo but they said they didn't have the ingredients for that or their red beans & rice until Tuesday (tomorrow), dang it! I ordered the Gil's special which had grilled flounder & shrimp over a bed of rice pilaf which was outstanding. My wife had the fried shrimp platter and she was very pleased. My kids and their spouses had a variety of different things, all of which they said was excellent.
For Saturday evening, we tried calling probably 6-8 places but never could get thru on the phone. We finally got thru to Kody's and placed our order. I had the fried seafood platter with fried flounder, shrimp and oysters with seasoned fries. Wife had the grilled mahi-mahi with rice pilaf and green beans. The kids had a variety of stuff including crab fried crab stuffed avocado and fried asparagus. They all said everything was very good.
our first 2 nights we stayed in the house and cooked dinner while the kids played in the pool. spaghetti one night, tatertot casserole the other (premade at home). I made up a couple of breakfast casseroles for breakfast, donuts/kolaches another morning and I cooked yesterday morning for the crew. We made up sandwiches at the house for lunch on the beach each day.
we got set up about 9:30 am on Thursday but knew the following days would need to get on the beach earlier based on Thursdays crowd. Set up by 9:00 on Friday and by 8:30 on Saturday but each day was a mile or two or more on down the beach to find a spot big enough to set up 2 canopies. There were more campers (travel trailers, 5th wheel, motorhomes) than I have ever seen .... and a gazillion golf carts.
