With no interest earned, no social security and nothing else he has 3,125 a month for 20 years. As long as he doesn't buy guns like you do I think he will be fine.

Earning 5%, its $3125 in interest a month before tax.

If he can’t live on that, plus the interest on the $750,000, he might need to make some lifestyle changes.

No joke. If the $4586 were and annuity, figured in with the cash value of what that would cost, whatever equity in property he has, and his $750k, he is worth well more than a million. He might should get much of that $750k out of cash and into some index funds high/low risk proportioned per how much risk he is willing to take. Maybe even at this point in his life look at part of it in some high dividend blue chip stocks, let it ride, and just add the dividend checks to his monthly income. There are some paying 4% or more. He has lots of investment options for that $750k, but to make up for that 22 year rule, "most is cash" is not where it needs to be. As said, he is better off than 90% of Americans at his age. Congratulations to him.

If the 2nd amendment was written just to include guns for hunting, why is there not an amendment to protect fishing poles?

^^^^Definitely. I guess its all relative to what your used to and what you expect and I can attest to the fact that the more you get the more you want. Toys just get bigger etc. But he is soooo much better off than most I would think he would be thankful and leave it at that.

I just bet "Sparkles" could help him deplete that nest egg.

I told him in my experience investing sucks at his age. It takes FOREVER to make money but thanks to Trump and his Tariffs, you can lose $3,000 in three weeks. Make it back in 8 months, MAYBE.

I’ll bet Charlie Sheen could answer that question.

I actually sat down with an advisor yesterday doing some retirement planning. Let's just say that it was nice to be making decisions based on tax consequences rather than figuring out how to eat.
