I'm needing some opinions on feeder location here. Do you all like location A or B? The area just to the right of the blind is flooded grass right now, but just beyond that will be winter wheat when the time comes. Feeder location A is in a slight, slight draw that comes in from the neighboring pasture to the south. I think I like location A better, except B makes me feel better for bow hunting because it's a touch farther from the neighboring fence. I like to keep respect there and not be trailing a deer over the fence line. The blind location is and has been there for years and I asked the landowner if it offended the neighbor and he assured me it didn't and to use the blind if I wanted. Also, feeder location B is directly out the front window of the blind, location A is out a small side window currently. The blind is big and bulky and turning it wouldn't be easy. Thoughts?

I would place a feeder at both locations.

My vote is "A"

Yes, I have and am considering just putting both up - one with a full blown pen and protein feeder in it, the other just a stand alone feeder.

Whats the risk of shooting onto the neighbors property on A

IF the green pin is the stand then I have the same concern as what SnakeWrangler brought up- shooting across a property line. Wherever you put the feeder make sure it is close to some brush or tree line- the deer feel more comfortable coming to a feeder close to an escape route rather than crossing a big clearing to get to it.

There is a fence and you actually can't even see in the other property, so there is no concern of me accidentally shooting over the boundary. I was more concerned of shooting one with bow and having to trail it across the fence.

B looks good to me. They can stop off for a snack on their way to water.

Han spread a little corn at eah location and see which gets hit most if only going with one feeder.

Wind direction is always key.
Bowhunting next to a fence where a deer may cross a fence can be a problem.
I would stay at least 100+ yards from a fenceline, and make sure the deer isn't facing the fence when you turn loose of your arrow.

I say both with the one farthest from the fence set up more for bow hunting. Also try not to put the feeder directly east or west of the blind....shooting into the sun is not good.

"B" It has the feeder/water and window facing the feeder. A is a swamp right now and turning to shoot out a side window is not very handy. Additionally, if the map is oriented correctly (North at top) you will be looking at the morning sun.

I prefer locations near the edge of bedding areas where deer are most likely to visit them when leaving out in the evening and returning in the morning.

Wind is everything if you are bowhunting. But remember, deer rarely DRT with a bow, so if wind is not a factor stay away from fence.

Also, drop some corn and camera at each spot if you can....

I would not use either location you have indicated. I would go north of the water trough up to the ridge of dark trees and find a spot to put a feeder. That would keep the location away from neighbors and their traffic. If those are Oak trees you would be better off when you have acorns.

I think I'm going to go with Location "B", just because it's a bit closer to the water, a little further from the property boundary, and there is a nice place to set up a bow blind where I will have the wind in my favor. I'm considering putting up an additional feeder at "A", but if I'm bow hunting, I hate to have 2 feeders going - I'd rather just have 1. So we'll see. Thanks again!
