Do you store your rifles in your gun safe or cabinet with the sling on or off?
I've always stored my rifles with the slings left on but feel I might be get better use of storage space with the slings removed.
If you store your rifles without the slings, where and how do you store the slings? Any advantages or disadvantages either way?
Thanks in advance.

The only sling I leave on is on a marlin that sits at the back door for varmints or when I walk out back to check the cameras and feeder. The others the sling comes off when not in use but that’s mostly because they get shot without needing to carry them far. I do keep one in the stand for when I kill an animal I don’t want my hands full.

Off, stored in the case that each gun normally gets transported in. Most of the time when I'm hunting in a blind, I take the sling off and set it behind me so it doesn't get in the way if/when I need to use the gun. The only time I use the sling is when I'm walking to and from the blind or hunting spot.

Slings off in my gun cabinet. I don't want to pull a rifle out and have a sling catch on another rifle and knock it over.

Off for me. I just stuff them in a drawer with other slings.

On for all my rifles. Only one that has been taken on and off is my AR QD sling.

All on for mine... when the hordes attack, do you really want to be looking for a sling?

Off. However, I have forgot to bring one on more than one hunt. I actually keep one in my hunting bag now

I use those one hand adjustable slings from Murray Leather. No need to take the slings off. Just take out the slack and put the rifle in the safe.

No slings on my hunting guns in storage or while hunting. Just something else to get in the way. I have lightweight rifles I can carry while walking/rattling/spot and stalk. My heavy rifles for stand hunting don't even have sling swivel studs on them. I have one sling and it is for my new Wilson Combat AR in 7-08.
