whats the largest beard you have every harvested. i have a few 11+ inchers, but i relly always wanted to shoot a bird with muiltipule beards.

i shave everyday....just joking.i dont know i will have to measure a few tomorrow.i think 11-12 inches.i love turkey beards and spurs.i like those big ole thick paint brush like beards.

Funny you say that, in 3 turkeys I have personally been with while shot in Montague county, 2 were double beards. And a few more at the lease were 3+ beards that I only heard about. In other counties, all just singles. My first turkey there was a double and a few weeks ago I was hunting and my friend took down a multiple that had 18 inches. One of my turkey fanatic friends hunts non-stop has shot a couple multiple in his life out of 100+ turkeys. Funny how the odds are in certain places. 11 1/4 is my longest though.

wow, those are impressive numbers..I have lots of 9 3/4 and 10's..

12 in got him in Kansas this year, have a few 10+ but average is around 9

i think the problem with getting over a 12'' beard is that there beard drags the ground and keeps there beard at a steady length. if you go some where where the birds are larger odds are the beards would be to

My dad got 19+ inches of beard in one shot this year.

I shot one is Sonora that was 11.5 and had a lower beard that was 2 inches.

I'm like Treebass...I have a bushel basket full of 9-10" beards. This one was my all time longest at a hair over 12". Nothing else over 10.75"



In all the birds I've shot only one was a double bearded bird....Now my kids are the "Multi-Beard" slayers.

around 12 inches, but have taken some double and a triple beard before.

I have one that's just a touch over 11" and I shot one 2 years ago with 5 beards ranging from 8 3/4" down to 1/2" . They stair stepped down in length but each was clearly it's own beard.

Best one to date was 10.5 but had 5 beards.

Best one to date 10.5 1.25 spurs....and yes I shot him with a .17HMR....first one with a rifle.

I shot mine this year with a 22-250. No harm in using a rifle. Longest beard is about 10in.
