I settled on the RWS Lock down mount. Since this will be subjected to vibration and getting bounced around I went with this air gun mount. A lot of shooters use these on model 60's. Less than $25.00 from Midway USA. Force on two axis seems to be a good idea. Anybody use this on a rimfire?

Never scoped my 60’s before. I have 3 of them. Let us know how it does!

I'm a fan. Fit, finish and function on this inexpensive mount is very good. I was worried about the height but it's a good weld for me. Got this scope for $25.00 used. I had one of these Simmons on a rim fire a long time ago, was always on and for a 50 yard zero it's adequate.

That looks pretty solid, covers almost all of the dove tail I see. Let us know how it holds zero

In addition to the four set screws you see there are two from the top that apply downward pressure.

Holds zero just fine, I have since swapped the scope out for an old Lyman I was able to get a hold of. Looks a lot better on this and holds about 1/2 MOT (Turtle) at 75 yards. Ran the 18 shot tube empty on a 50 yard target several times, spent the weekend on my 4 wheeler, no issues.

I have used the RWS lockdown on RWS air rifles and they outlast the scopes. Not saying much for a $50-$60 scope on a springer. Those vertical locking screws are scope stop pins, they screw down into holes in the rws dovetail scope base to lock it in similar to slots on a weaver rail.

Thise single screw rings will hold a scope on a twangy rws 34 so any .22 lr shouldn't be a problem.

Way too tall for my taste. I only scoped one 60 to flip it because it was a RemLin but I used this one ----> CLICK HERE FOR LINK. Just add rings of your choice.

It's only $8 shipped and is only about 1/4" tall. To fit a Marlin 60 it needs 3 minutes worth of modification on the underside out of view.

Pass the gravy.

My Model 60 has Warne rimfire rings on it that fasten directly to the receiver groove. I’m happy with them, they’ve been on the rifle a long time with no issues. To each his own, I prefer how low the scope sits compared to how high it would sit with the RWS Lock Down mount.

Don’t roll those bloodshot eyes at me.

I think the lower rings would be better, too. The rws lockdown mount has some elevstion built into it. A good bit actually, to compensate for barrel droop common in break barrel air rifles. Anywhere from 9 to some 18" at like 30 yards if I am not mistaken, depending on the model of the mount.

It wasn't my first choice, and I typically don't like the height. This rifle spends a lot of time bouncing around on the rack of my 4 wheeler, I went for the most robust, heavy fastening mount I could find. I'm going to check out the Warne mounts mentioned above. I'm a big fan of Warne rings.
