Picked up some Peterson 22Creedmoor from Horizon today. Coyotes should be nervous.

I still have far too much hornady 6 creed brass to run before switching. Did see horizon got like 7k or more of that Peterson brass in. Guess that's derick preferred brass for the 22 now?

That’s the brass he is using in his ammunition. I dropped off a rifle for a fellow employee yesterday so I was there about 15 minutes after the brass was delivered.

Interesting that someone else is as cheap as you? confused2

Alright DS...you have to give us details. Why did you swap and how does it compare on deer to the Berger?

Ok here are my reasons.
I know that 80.5 Bergers hammer deer just fine with about 25-30 kills.
So last Fall I loaded Berger’s as I knew I might use to cull does.

Once January rolls around it’s predators only and that’s all I Shoot from then to March. The 75 kills just fine on predators and it’s faster and point blank range is a little better and they shoot great in my rifle. I also had a ton I needed to shoot as well.

Now I will add one more data point that is ongoing. A good friend just got his 22 Creedmoor and is using 80 gr ELDX and he has experienced several hogs that his has head shot inside 100 yards that fall then jump and run off. He said they are splashing badly. I have shot around 20 hogs in the head with no issues but all were longer shots 350-500 yards with same load.
My suggestion to him is to switch to Berger and see if he gets better results. Now he is good shot and has killed over 400 hogs in the past 12 months most all with 6.5 Creedmoor with Thermal so he’s experienced shooter/ hunter.

By the way his 22 Creedmoor has 21 inch barrel 1/8 twist running 3280

Forgot to answer the specific question on performance of 75gr Eld-m On deer.
Having only shot 3 all behind or edge of shoulder they did just fine DRT.
I also shoot 10 deer with 80 ELDX and they also worked great with only 2 making short dashes of less than 20 yards.
All again shoulder shots inside 200 yards.
Don’t know if Hornady will actually market an ELDX but not sure why they wouldn’t at some point.

emailed Ben Preston at Peterson, they haven't released the .22 Creed brass for us peon's yet,

Alpha does/did have SRP .22 Creeds in stock a couple weeks ago

My builder ordered two Reamers, as soon as they get here, they can get my rifle done.

Interesting...thanks for the explanation DS!

Jason....I'll own the donkey comment as you know but there isn't a snowballs chance in hell that Hornady will make a better measuring bullet than Berger. You shoot them because they're cheaper...own it wink

Measuring what? In benchrest? I don't shoot benchrest. That's your gig.

Hornady has higher BC, and always go elevation center for me. Left, right is all on me.

My bullet measurements are not with a caliper, but what I see them do down range. Steel, or hide, they've always been good to me.

We have plenty if you need some give us a call or its on our website and we will have it up on our 22creedmoor.com pretty soon. We worked with Peterson to develop this caliber in their line up so for a while we will be the sole supplier. So far we have purchased all of the 22 Creed brass they have produced. Its running 86cents per round in qty above 500 and 91cents in batches of 50.

They are awesome people and make really good stuff. Been a super cool project working with them. Fun to see them shooting our rifles as well. Just hope we can get them to do the 6.5 PRC brass sooner than later smile

I loaded a 100 rounds so far with the new brass. Looked like they had been lightly chamfered inside so no prep as case necks all looked round seated easily. Seated with Hornady 22 caliber seater with AMax stem installed loaded 80.5 Berger this go round and runout was impressive. Checked about a dozen or so and all had less than .002 so I quit checking.
