Was brush hogging some super thick briars that had totally covered these trees. Noticed they were loaded with fruit. These are wild plum right? I haven't seen fruit on them much in the past. Hopefully if I clear off the briars they will produce better. This guy was poking around in there later that night.

Set a blind up facing that tree - better than corn. I hunted a place in OK and we set up blinds near both wild plum and persimmon trees. Every year, the best deer were taken from these blinds.

Makes great jelly and takes a lot of sugar but has a sweet and tart flavor, just watch for chiggers, wasp nest and snakes that show up looking for the mice feeding on fallen fruit.

When mowing fence lines, I’d pick a few going by and eat them.

Great find! On an old lease we discovered an apple and plum orchard close to a long past homestead. Only a few of the trees were producing and some held fruit until fall for some reason. Biggest buck taken off that lease was in that old orchard.
