I've gone through the this whole thread & no one has mentioned Woodford Reserve. Still my overall favorite for taste, price & availability. ...and it's not as wasteful as Blanton's if you need to pour it on a bullet wound! Personally think it’s only good for cleaning my drains and getting my septic system drunk.

Yes choices are important. [ Glad to see I’m not the only one that wasted money on a bottle of Bulleit 10... Yup, same here. That’s stuff is Hey now I have drank plenty bottles of bullit and tend to like it. I love the regular Bulleit rye & bourbon. The 10 goes down like sandpaper (even diluted). I get angry every time I look at it considering what I could’ve bought for the same price.

So, do ya'll with these fine whiskeys, ever turn them on their sides to keep the corks from drying out and crumbling?

At the time my then fiancé bought me the second from the right on her bachelorette party, I took one plug from it she she gave it to me. I didn’t touch it again because she first told me how much she paid so I knew it was special and also knowing she liked how it tasted over ice. I didn’t touch it again until later that year after we got married and just so happened my dad came home from the hospital after his heart attack. There’s not much left but I’m saving it for a really special night. The far right bottle is their special reserve, i bought it the year I found out my wife was pregnant with our first child. I don’t plan to open it until she’s 18. Which it may happen earlier but she’s only 3 now so things can change, but those are my hopes. Same will happen for our next child, if we are blessed again.

Garrison Bros is good stuff, especially the single barrel. If you're ever in Hye, it's worth touring their distillery.
Watch for the Twin Liquors dollar sale. You can get both of those for a much better price.

IMO, only bourbon that is better that Woodford Reserve is Woodford Reserve Double Oak. Glass, scotch ball, Double Oak, all a man needs.

The great thing about bourbon is there are a lot of choices. I've personally never been a fan of anything from Buffalo Traces Mash bill #2 Blanton's, Blanton's SFTB, Elmer T. Lee etc. After the madness that ensued when everybody started snatching up Weller 12, and selling it for 4-5x on the secondary market, I switched over to Henry McKenna 10 as my daily drinker but after winning best whiskey in the world in San Francisco last month it will also be impossible to find. Glad I have 3 bottles.

Glad I have 3 bottles. Many years ago I went to Buffalo Trace during an ice storm, my wife and I were the only ones there. We got an awesome private tour the place, it is incredible. At the time they gave samples of Blantons, Eagle Rare and Weller 12, we enjoyed them and gave Buffalo Trace our business. They were also generous with samples and very hospitable as they stayed despite the weather for our tour. Now days those bourbons are the tough ones to find. But I have found many $40 bottles on the shelf that are just as good. I will still pick up a Weller 12, Eagle Rare or Blanton's as they are available. I need to give Henry McKenna 10 a try, Heaven Hill makes some good bourbons.

Yes choices are important. [ Glad to see I’m not the only one that wasted money on a bottle of Bulleit 10... Get the bulleit barrel proof. An excellent whiskey, apparently unrelated to their other stuff. Around the same price as blantons but better in my opinion. I had some of the more expensive Balcones whiskeys a couple of days ago. Not near as good as their cheaper black label single malt. Knob Creek 120 is always my fall back. It’s always good but is a strong whiskey. I only tasted the Four Roses but it was ok for sure. I approve of this message. Nice pic Sir
