Under $1500, by far the most beautiful rifle to me is the Weatherby Vanguard Camilla. Shame it is for girls. I might end up with one "for my daughter". It is one fine piece of something.
Weatherby is winning my heart for aesthetics in general. In my opinion, also top quality. Might not win any competitions- maybe they will? Who cares. I never shot a sub half inch group at 100 yards in my life and I don't know if a target rifle would change that. But I can hit a man size silhouette offhand at 600 yards with just a red dot. I imagine a weatherby with a good scope would get me in the kill zone in the prone.
Savage, to me, look nice. I love the barrel nut. I have seen them with a smooth barrel nut in stainless synthetic, and it makes a handsome rifle.
I appreciate a good synthetic stock, but a rifle in a nice walnut stock is just something you appreciate and cherish. The way it looks and the way it feels in the hand, you have to touch it, want to hold it, can't put it down.
Why would you comment on a thread about aesthetics in the first place then? It’s like commenting on a thread about sports cars then you chime in saying all you care about is gas mileage. It has nothing to do with the original topic whatsoever
Please read slow.
For the protagonist there is an antagonist. (Look up those meanings) I stated, long ago, performance over aesthetics is more important to me. Therefore, this is what is called dialogue (look that up, also). And I provided a photo to buttress (look up that word) to support my side. Had you yet to provide a photo of a fine work of art, as a rifle example, I would have applauded it, even it of can only hold 2" at 100 yards.
Take your time..

That is literally the first time I have heard that Savage has extraction issues. I have never seen one with extraction problems and all do the ones I had were perfect. But some guy on a forum said so and because your think they are ugly therefore they suck... geez. Real winner we have here.
My Brand new savage had extraction problems right out of the box. Called Savage, and they mailed me a new extractor. The last brand new Ruger I bought had feeding problems right out of the box too. Ended up having to install a softer extraction spring to get that one to function right. Yeah, so Savage may have some extraction issues. Still shoots better than any of my other rifles.
To answer the original question, what really turns my head is a beautiful walnut stock with a shiny deep blue action and barrel. Brand isn't that important. Savage has an anniversary gun on thier website that looks very interesting to me...Savage 125 anniversary
That125th anniversary savage is indeed one handsome rifle. Still, Weatherby wins my heart. Dreaming of a mkV camilla. "For my wife" hahaha
Saying you think the premise of the thread sucks is not actually participating in the thread - it’s simply sidetracking it to draw attention to your (irrelevant) opinion because you think your opinion must trump everything else. Even if it’s off topic.
Just like how you had to point out how Wbys suck on the Wby thread - even though that was not the topic of that thread either and even though you’ve never shot one.
This is all pretty obvious.

I know this is slightly above the OP's suggested limit of $1500. However, I have never seen a lovelier firearm. Gorgeous wood stock. Hand engraved. Ok, there was another pair when I saw this one; sequential serials numbers and double the price.
To me there is a point where you dare not use it. This is one of those items.
1. Little Sharps Rifle Company Lil Reliable with very nice Bastogen Walnut stock 2. CZ 527 Premier 3 . Cooper M52 4. Custom mannlicher stocked 44 Mag 5. Sako Forester Handi Hunter Carbine
There are others Ruger #1 and agree with the Dakota Model 10. The only Dakota 10 I have shot had a case hardened receiver and rings, full length forearm and all the wood is high grade walnut, chambered in 6.5X55
Needless to say I like blued steel and walnut.
I love to look at high end blues steel and walnut, but I have a hard time just keeping cerakote on stainless, and webbing on fiberglass. My favorite shot gun has couple bare spots. I need to get it reblued, it’s hell to keep rust off it. I need a cerakote type product that’s not backed on that’s close to same performance.
Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure, than to take rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, b/c they know not victory nor defeat"- #26 TR
I like the aesthetics of Winchester lever actions, Colt SAAs, wood/blue Sakos and fine double guns. But on any given day I am subject to changing my mind as to what I like best.
I actually think my synthetic Sako Finnlight is not an ugly rifle at all....

I never shot a Weatherby either. But man, I gotta get my hands on one! Here's that Vanguard Camilla. The MK V Camilla is even nicer. Although now I must admit I am torn on a number of other Weatherby guns that have caught my eye, may best the camilla, I'm not sure. Even the synthetic Weatherby's are downright sexy rifles.

I bought my wife the 1st gen Camilla before the mark V Camilla existed. I love the little gun. Weatherbys answer to the model 7. It is designed for a woman although I shoot it well.
My dad left me an older savage 110. Had a nice wood stock. I don’t know what year or grade but at first glance you would have thought it was a late 60’s or early 70’s model 70, but with better checkiering. The barrel nut gavecit away but it was a good looking gun by any measure.
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.
That ruger no.1 is a sweet looking rifle too. Love those rifles. The rest of your guns are fine looking rifles too except for that ugly duckling at the bottom.
I don’t think you can talk about good looking rifles and talk about anything but wood and blued steel. Or in some cases, color case-hardened steel. The current Winchester 1886 with pistol grip stock and case hardened receiver gets my vote.
