Yeah, that's right. Look at the way they avoid feeders once the corn is gone. The 5/8" hole is as small as I'll go. They still have to work for their supper.
ive heard that even if there no holes and they hear it they will play with it for a long amount of time. thats what ive herd. have you heard anything like that
Only if in the recent past they have had one that fed them corn. They are not the brightest animal on the block but if they play with the pipe for a little bit and there is no corn they will move on.
Deer are the same way, they will play with the pipe as long as they get corn and then move on. Another method is to use 2 liter soda pop bottles with the lid off. The problem with the plastic bottles is they are hard to tie onto so they don't become trash.
yea i hunted a freinds stand one time and all around his blind he had milk gallons tie with rope to a tree, with a little hole at the bottom of the gallon suspened from the tree, every year he would have to put up new ones becuase they become brittle

Yes i have tryed the 2liter bottle and the seem to get upset and smash them and all corn will be gone.I have took 4"DWV SCH40 3' nd cut from bottom up on 5gal. bucket 7"all the way around and cut it off ,then put the pipe inside the 7"from bottom 31/2" and bolt useing 5/16 bolts, nuts and flat washers on inside and outside.Gravity fed.Wire to tree good about 2" off ground. Also take a metal 30 gal. trash can and cut a 6" u shape cut 6" from bottom of can and make a flat funnel titled at 45% have the low side of funnel below cut.Fold in the u shape cut a couple inches to avoid corn coming out to quick.Tie to tree really good.Have seen them side ways.Shot a bunch from stand visiting the trash can.
