This Axis was hit on US Hwy 199 just outside Azle next to Ash Creek. I didn't see a tag in it's ear but it would have to came from a nearby high fence place. ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2019/03/full-7194-181799-thumbnail_img_0899.jpg)
They make ammo specifically for hunting for a reason!

Just wait. They will be all over Texas some day. I live about 3 miles out of Bandera. At about 8 in the morning I can count over 50 LF between here and town. I have counted over 75 in a single herd. Drive on the roads around here. 75 % of the road kills are Axis.

I can't think of a single high fence place anywhere near. It looks like it came from the northeast side of the highway?

I see them dead on IH10 all of the time, more than whitetails, I wish they would go away.

They do not perceive cars like whitetails do, I'm convinced.
txtrophy85 and I saw a good buck running between IH10 and the westbound side property fence, just west of Boerne. Big boy, coulda been 30". He was just loping along without a care in the world, semis and cars whizzing by.
