I made a post in the Hog Hunting section. Just joined up here but I’ve been on TFF for many years. I just got back into hunting after a long time.
Since the wife isn’t big on venison, I’m probably going to stick to hog hunting because she was all in on that tenderloin from my first hog harvest.
So I was told to come over here and introduce myself. Late 50’s, retired early and lots of free time so getting in on a lease is more plausible now because I have the spare time to devote.
Another hunting activity of mine is night time rat control. Bastards like my bird feeder and garden (during the warmer months). Too smart for most traps so they get a more direct approach with night vision scope on pellet rifle. Silent and deadly on those vermin.
Want to learn more from all you long time hunters so I may have a few questions from time to time.

Politics are personal to me, but I can tell you I don’t support those who want to dumb down our constitutional rights if that tells you anything. Especially the 2A. Fairly pro cannabis with the same guidelines we have for alcohol. But I don’t personally have a need for it. My buddy used to say, “When’s the last time you saw a couple of stoned guys get into a bar fight?” Hell yes I have eaten bass, they’re delicious. A trophy bass? No, but when TPWD puts a slot limit on a lake, they’re practically begging fisherman to keep the unders. And they make good table fare. Over the years, i’ve put a few LMB into Lake Crisco.
