Looking for experiences, pros/cons, opinions for using a non-QD PEPR versus rings to mount a 5-25x50 on a 6.5 creedmore Ruger Precision Rifle.

The downside is it's going to limit the flexibility of mounting options for the scope. I also think it's going to put the scope very high as it's meant for an AR15. But if it works for your head position and eye relief then go for it. I would probably look at low or med rings pending your scope.

Sometimes lately I think I'd rather go cheap on the scope than the mount. These days I'd buy one 2-3 times more expensive than the Pepr (I have 2 or 3 Pepr's); and not because i feel like a high roller, I just see the value in a super high quality mount. It's one of the few places an extra $150 goes far.

I have a Bushnell Elite with a PEPR. I just wasnt sure about using it versus separate rings for a long distance set up.

I have a Bushnell Elite with a PEPR. I just wasnt sure about using it versus separate rings for a long distance set up. it depends on the quality of the rings. At a given price range, a single piece mount and rings is usually a more stable setup than separate rings and bases. I just fund that on my PEPR's the aluminium is kind of soft so it's best to tighten once and leave it alone.

I had a PEPR once and I remember it being ok. Only other thing I remember about it was that it was heavy.

I used a TPS mount and rings on my last 2 bolt guns.. pretty solid stuff. As someone else said, PEPR is a great mount for an AR, but prob too high for bolt gun.

I have a PEPR on one of my AR's, and I like it. I think it is a good mount, but that is on an AR. Might be too high for long range. If it were me, I would mount it in the PEPR and start shooting today. Then I would order some more suitable rings and put them on once they come in.

Badger Ordnance and Talley Tactical are the two brands of rings I buy. Once a scope is mounted into a set of rings, it never leaves them. I had my NF ATACR on a cow elk hunt that we got rained on. The rings rusted to the scope a bit. Oh well, they are one unit. And I move scope and rings to different rifles very frequently. I have one scope per two rifles, and when I make a move, I check notes, dial corrections and am often zeroed in one shot. That is with a 20 MOA pic rail screwed down with Lock Tite on every rifle.
The PEPR is going to get your scope so high, that you'll need the comb of the stock higher as well. You might as well put the proper height rings on the rifle and be done with it.

I guess I'll order rings and save the pepr for a future AR. Do you guys lap your rings?

The kind I buy forbids it. Lapping voids the warranty. And they say they do not need it.
Lower cost rings, it is not a bad idea. But I reckon scope rings are akin to the method of attaching the walls of a building to the foundation. It is extremely important, and is not to be done "cheaply".

I have PEPRs on every scoped AR I have.
I have never had an issue with bolts breaking(when properly torqued per specs), slippage, or the mounts leaving ring marks on scopes. I have never lapped one.
IMO/IME they are tough as nails.
