We carry a camera, yes a real one, and snap some shots when we see something we like. Then she has a place on line where she gets them reproduced on canvas. We then have it framed and up it goes. It is "our art" that gives us memories of trips we have taken.

It is "our art" that gives us memories of trips we have taken. We did that once through hobby lobby for my parents and I was pretty happy how it turned out. I want to do it again but next time Ill find a more professional place to do it.

Don't rule out thrift stores/re-sale shops as well as used furniture consignment places. It's amazing what shows up.

Check out Tim Cox for western themed art.

one of my favorite artists that does amazing work is Dalhart Windberg. Some of his Texas landscapes look almost like photographs ... Windberg Gallery

This artist has been gone many years. 'Used to have a gallery in Fbg., but now his family just does on-line. We have several of the prints. He captured the Hill Country, I think perfectly, before it became unrecognizable. >>>Beckendorf GalleryYep. We have a couple of Charles Beckendorf prints. I believe he passed a couple of years ago. Gruene market days is good. In Plano, theres 'art and frame warehouse'. Lots of western stuff, reasonably priced. Brumbaughs in west Ft. Worth has a great selection too.

You are looking for art advice on a redneck forum?
Lol, art is art. In that case, I’ll strip down and sit in some different color paint and then dab my buttox on some canvas for you. I’ll call it art and you will enjoy it.

If you are investing, then find an artist you like, visit galleries, etc
If you just want art for the wall, then check thrift shops and ebay for anything that you wouldn't mind looking at for a long time.

Try to find stuff that you like that is already framed, or expect to pay twice, once for the art, then again to have it framed.
