So in 2016 I bought a brand new Dodge Ram Rebel love the truck.
Couple things I'm not happy with.
1. Size of fuel tank. The sticker says I have the optional 32 Gallon Fuel tank but after 3+ years of driving this truck and putting Fuel in it I am convinced I only have the 28 gallon tank. I've mentioned this several times to Service Advisers when I'm in there for service or recalls etc and they brush me off in one way or another every time. I can't stand 'Service Advisers' at car dealerships......

I have ran it down BELOW empty the pointer is below the red and I know I have to be running on just fumes. Pulled up to the pump and filled it all the way up ....... 28 Gallons and some change. I've done this a couple of times never make it over 28 gallons. There is no way there is 4 gallons of fuel left in that tank.
But I have no way to check it for certain unless anyone has any ideas.

2. The rear dome light can't turn it on or off from the back in other words a backseat passenger can't flip the light on. I have to light up the entire cab to get that light on and that's ridiculous on a $50,000.00 truck. Dealership said they would install one for 100.00.

3. The Service at the dealership when I take the truck in for a $90.00 full synthetic oil change they also want to charge me 20.00 to rotate the tires. I don't know but I'm thinking they should throw in the tire rotation for free! + it wouldn't hurt to wash my truck. Just give me a little something. My Nephew bought a Ford and they rotate his tires + gave him the first 2 oil changes for FREE I didn't get any goodies like that.

The tank probably has a 4 gallon reserve. Mine has 6. A lot of Tundra owners think they got ripped off on their fuel tank, but it�s there.

1- I have the Ram TRX 4x4 with the 32 gallon tank. The fuel gauge will go below the red and still have 3+ gallons of fuel. Take a gas can of 2+ gallons and run it dry to find out for sure.

2- Pay $100

3- Go to Discount tire for free rotation.

We are a Toyota family now, both vehicles

But I owned probably 5 Dodge products prior. Every single one had an electrical issue OR two and I got tired of it and will no longer own one.

I don�t know what their deal is and why they all did it at some point

1) 28 isn�t bad for a 1/2 ton truck

2) tell them they don�t need the light on

3) do it yourself for cheaper

If I run my Tundra to zero on the range thingy you can get 21 gallons into it. The tank is almost 27 gallons. Plenty left.

Take a 5 gallon gas can and run it out of gas. Put in enough to get you to a gas station and figure it out.

Had a 2001 GMC 2500 4WD with the 8.1L and 26 gallon tank. You start looking for places to fill up when the gauge got to 1/2 tank.

Lol you could punch it and watch the tach and the gas gauge go opposite directions!

My Tundra is 38 gallon. I can only get 32 in it when it gets to 0 miles left. 6 is in the system and you risk burning up fuel pump and stuff if you suck it all out.

I just sold an identical truck, it had 32 gallons. I never ran it dry or as close as chad does but I did put 480 miles on a tank once then about 29-30 gallons in. If you want to know how big the tank is, run it empty then see how much it takes to fill it up. But is it really that important?

I just got a 2016 Laramie 4x4 then leveled and installed 35s. The 26 gallon tank doesn't last near as long as my old TRX4 did.

I do have the ability to turn on just the rear light, again it's a Laramie which is nicer than the Rebel. I miss the 3.92 gears and would gladly trade you my rear light for your gears.

Yep, go to discount or there are plenty of other shops that will rotate for free if you just ask. The stealer ship isn't there to do you any favors, it's a profit center for the dealer. I just go there for parts I can't find elsewhere then install myself or pay someone else.

The truck rides great I like the Air Suspension + when I lower it the wife can get in and out much easier.

To me it just bugs me I want what I paid for or at least know it's there. I may run it out of fuel to see.
But if I still can't get over 28 gallons into it I think the Dealership still won't do anything about it.

[Tire Rotation]
I did do it myself the 2nd time but while doing it with one floor jack I'm thinking I should have just paid them the 20.00.
I thought Discount Tire would only rotate the tires for free if you bought them there..

[Rear Dome Light]
Shortly after buying this truck and noticing the rear dome has no switch I was in the dealer I went to a standard RAM 1500 climbed in there to look and it had a nice LED light with a rocker type switch on it. WTH......

One good thing, looks like the truck is worth same or a few k more then I owe and I'm 3 years into it.

Fuel gauges are not always accurate. Our two duramaxes will be in the red on empty with 26 gallon tanks and you will be lucky to get 18 gallons in them. Far as I know ram doesn't make a 28, they make a 26 and two bigger optional tanks, I think a 32 and a 38.

Pretty sure the Laramie is the trim level under Rebel, or it was when I bought my '19 Rebel....

They have too dang many trims these days. I love my tradesman, good and simple everything I need and want... actually has too much carp I don't want.

ask the dealer to pull the build sheet for you.

On your rear dome light, try pushing on it. I thought the same thing on the one in my 2011 lonestar, but the whole light in mine is a push button. Just a thought.

Yep, Tundra owner here. I think I put 32 in my38 once. Low fuel light on and miles to empty @ 0. I thought about carrying a can and testing but who knows where you will run out. Top of high 5 maybe. Not worth it. I just know when light comes on i have plenty of time to get fuel.

Oh it is very nice, was looking at the Laramie sport before I found a Rebel 12. Found a Laramie that was basically a Limited without all the chrome which is why I didn't want the Limited to start with....

2. To read the Dodge hate these threads usually get ... it�s nice to see a thread about a brand (in this case, Dodge) without all the hate because you are a believer in a different brand.

I submitted my vin to Chrysler and printed up the build sheet myself at no cost.
