I have quail dogs (english pointers) and hog dogs(yellow black mouth curs). My dad just bough my boys a very nice pair of black and tan coonhounds we are pretty excited about. So what kind of dogs do you use and what do you hunt with them?

I like all pointing breeds from pointers on down.

This year in Texas I’m mostly using mine to pet. Between my buddy and I we’re running 14 dogs and a good Day is 4 coveys.

Beautiful children. Beats the snot out of staying home.

Thanks! If they’d just act as nice as they look I’d be happy. There’s a fistfight at least once a week. You’d be surprised who wins sometimes. The only thing they agree on is they love those dogs. They’re pretty good training partners. I came back from Kansas with a nice pointing lab this year. I hope she makes the cut because they love her the best. She will though, she’s a nice pup. All I’ll require of her is she find dead bird and retrieve dove. I swore I’d never own another lab but you can’t turn down a $1500 pup a buddy says you need to load up. I was happy a few years ago with 2 Brittany but freinds kept giving me pups. I never thought I’d get a nicer gyp than my top dog (Bryt) Kate. But the one in the picture ( Shorthair) has moved up in the world. She’s a bird finding machine. And retrieved just as well as the Brits.

That looks like a dang good pair of hunting partners scalebuster. I'm jealous. My number one hunting buddy is in college now. Relish every minute of those times....

I use mine to bark at cars, kids and leaves blowing by the house.

My dog will point birds like a champ when he is in the mood ut one thing he really loves is a blood trail, so that is what he gets used for mostly other than just a good dog

I've got two Texas Lacys used for game recovery. Also have a retired duck dog. All are still used for general entertainment

Mine is first my companion and friend. Next he is my hunting partner. He meets my expectations in all aspects.As I write he is lying next to me by the computer. All is well!!!!
