Just gat an alert from Chase. My income tax refund just got deposited. That's the fastest turnaround I remember. Inflation is on the way for my side of town.

They came back at me (letter in the mail) saying I screwed up on my 20017 taxes and owed $1300 more, so it will probably be next year before I get my refund and turbo tax said it looked good

Just did my taxes and I am getting a sizable refund, which I have had to pay quite a bit last few years. I guess my company didn't adjust the witholdings when Trump changed the taxes.

Never understood why people let the government hold on to their money, interest free, for a year and then have to justify to the government, why they need it back.

100% agree on this one. Not a tax expert, but didn't plan on this change. I haven't had a refund since they year we got married 15 yrs ago.

It's not the full year for me. My biggest with holding was from my RMD.. It came later in the year. I Intentionally had them to withhold 25%. I'm 100 % equities in my IRA. I don't make or intend to invest in my available cash. It's the same as I wrote on the thread about paying off your house. It's the feeling you get.

I also don’t understand giving folks all, or even more money than they paid in taxes. I’d love to keep more of mine instead of my cousins, who are worthless getting back $10-14k and blowing it on crap.

For the past 5 years I have owed the IRS between 1 and 3k. This year I am getting back a sizable amount. The Trump tax cut has really helped me out.
