How long do you usually leave a quartered deer on ice before processing? Bloody water being drained daily. ice under and over meat.
Haven't had it in years but never spit any out. I am a sucker for happy endings and strapped cowboys.

Older bucks and big boar hogs I usually ice age for a week, but I've gone 2 weeks a couple of times. I know a few people that let theirs age for up to 3 weeks. I have two deer iced in the back of my truck from last Saturday, they'll go to the freezer this Sat. If you're grinding everything aging really doesn't make a difference, but if cutting into steaks & roasts it does.

As long as I can (within reason of course), but at least a few days.

Barring no other factors working against you, four weeks is safe.

I always leave on ice for 1 week before I even begin to think about processing. I prefer to age in the cooler for up to two weeks, then process and age in the vacuum seal pack in the fridge for another week before putting it in the freezer.

Clean shot and killed and cleanly and timely gutted and skinned I have left deer from 0 to 20 days on ice, keep ice full and leave drain plug open with a brick under the opposite end.
I still have yet to notice a difference in quality of meat from doing this, but it can buy you time to get the work done.

Long enough to consider myself lazy. Usually get home with meat on Sunday and drop it off that next Friday.

I try to leave it on ice for at least 7 days. Don’t know if it makes any difference.
Never been to a camping world. I prefer Dick's to be honest.

Aging deer has no value except maybe to drain some more blood out. Aging on ice really makes a difference when the meat is marbled with fat like with beef etc..that helps to break down and tenderize the meat some.

I had my doe on ice for 6 days and the meat was just fine. Bottom line if you keep it real cold on ice it will stay good for awhile

I’ve gone as long as 2 weeks in the cooler, and I’ve taken one straight to the processor that was done and in the freezer in 3 days. I couldn’t tell the difference in taste or texture.

4-12 days. Just keep drain open and keep adding ice.

I believe the longest I've done is about 4 days. However, after reading others responses I think I'll give it a couple more days if need be.

Going for 2 weeks. Just didnt feel it yesterday with the rain and all. Plus, I ordered the foot pedal for my grinder and want to get it here. Meat looks great. Wife promised to help Saturday morning so it will go quick.
