I am looking for land to lease within an hour of downtown Dallas. I am wanting to lease this land on an annual basis. Or monthly if you prefer. I do not want to hunt or fish on this land. I simply want to use it to work/train my Labrador Retriever. We run in competitive field trial-style (hunt test) events and I am hopeful to find some land a bit closer to me than my current options.
Let me know if you have or if you know of someone with land in Ellis County, Collin County, Kaufman county that might be willing to lease it for this type of use. I would be out there maybe 1-4 times a month for probably one or two hours each visit.
I would want land to have some fairly open areas with scattered trees and stock tanks.

Curious as to what price you think would be reasonable. I have the perfect place. In Ellis county. 45 minutes from downtown Dallas. I've thought about leasing my land for training purposes as income when I retire next year but never knew what I thought I might charge. The place I am referring to is 115 acres with private lake frontage on a 10+ acre lake. I would need to close it Nov - Jan as we duck hunt the lake several times a week. However if training was done mid-day during the duck season, and on the other end of the property, we could work something out. you can email me at jodytaylor1961@gmail.com if you want to send me your ideas. I do have it leased for cattle and that won't change.

Have you thought about using Corps land? I used to take my lab to Lake Lavon all the time . Plenty of land there and it's free to use.
