My wife and I have had TLS since we first got our LTCs. For us two, it's $240 a year. I don't want to ever have to find out how effective they are but for the price, it gives me peace of mind that I have someone to call should I ever need them. JMHO.

They sell that snake oil everywhere. No less than 3-4 people at gun related shows selling the scare tactic

It does make me curious though because the guy who started it shot a few burglars breaking in to his neighbors house when he wasn’t home. I could be wrong about this part but I believe he shot them in the back. To my understanding that would not be covered under this because they posed no threat to him or anybody else since his neighbors were not home. If that is the case that would mean they got started off as something that would not even be covered.

Below par left over lawyers and sub paralegals work for them Probably no different than the lawyers you get with car insurance if you kill/injure someone and get sued.

We use a different company that I don't owe a free endorsement. Unlike some high rollers we do not have a lawyer on retainer so would otherwise have no one to call if the need came up. Peace of mind like all insurance.

Peace of mind like all insurance. Can you post or PM me the info on who you use? I considered TLS, but after researching it, my takeaway from lots of folks was that they don't really do anything you couldn't do on your own. Not sure if that is true or not but many people recommended against relying on TLS. As best as I can recall anyhow. I sure hope I don't ever have to shoot anyone but it could happen.

Not sure if that is true or not but many people recommended against relying on TLS. It’s insurance. Pay $10 monthly insurance premium, that is your cost, or no insurance and take risk on legal cost and in the event you find yourself in court, which is probably $15k best case, but could easily reach $100k or more.

I don't need it, I have the cash One could make an argument that is all more reason to get it, to protect your cash. If don’t have cash you got nothing to lose. It is less about how much cash you have, and more about what kind of risk taker you are.

And in my opinion if you read the fine print you will realize that it is basically a scam and covers almost nothing except possibly the first visit with your lawyer. There is a reason why they have a salesperson at most every single public class given. If it was that great of a deal people would be banging on their door trying to get it, not them putting the hard sell and the fear of God into you.

If I get myself in trouble, I don't want just any lawyer, I want my lawyer.
