We are possibly relocating to central Texas. Am I committing waterfowl suicide by doing so? I am not looking for places to hunt or people to scout for me. I can scout I know the game. I have scouted my butt of to find what we have in west Texas. I am just asking about overall.

Most likely yes if relying on public water, but central is a big area. What city or town would you be near?

Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting.......holy kaka.....What a Ride!

I live in Kerrville and it is quite possibly the worst place for a waterfowler to live. Seriously. All the public water IMO that is worth hunting is typically a 2.5-3hr drive one way. Lots of rivers around here, but rarely ever see any birds on them as there is not a large amount of vegetation or food in them.

That area is not going to be as good. Guess I consider that more hill country.

Yep Kerrville would be waterfowl suicide. Lots of Deer leasing in that area and some public drawn hunt places you can put in for or go standby. But that means resorting to hunting mostly 4 legged critters.
