Hi all
I'm new to hunting in Texas (I'm Irish) and have never bow hunted. Lake Ray Roberts is about an hour from me (I am in Plano) and I was wondering if any of you guys have been around there?
I am using a recurve and am happy to hunt feral hogs. Any tips for the area and first time bow hunting tips most welcome!

I fished RayBob quite a bit, have seen hog sign ocassionally. They move around so much finding them would be like finding a needle in a haystack. Lake Lavon would be a much shorter drive for you,and probably has just as many hogs.Last time I was at Lavon I ask a couple of ladies on horseback if they ever see deer around the lake. They said no but see hogs quite often, some big ones too.

Funny, I used to bow hunt for pigs there often. All I ever saw were deer.

Thanks I never even thought about Lake Lavon...but that aint much of a suprise considering I'm not from the US lol. I'll definitely be hitting up Lavon, plus my wife's friend actually lives a 5 minute drive from the office so I can drop her butt off there
