Hard to tell for sure on those pictures but to me it looks like different deer. I say 4.5 or older. East Texas?

Almost positive those are two different bucks-the one on the top has two on the right and the bottom has three. Both are very likely 4.5.

7 pt and 8pt, both look mature and rutted down.
Assuming you don’t have gators, should be great deer next year

Not the best photos to age from. Neither one have much staining on their hocks for this time of the year which leads me to believe neither is very old. The way they are standing and in motion effects how they would look vs. standing still broadside as far as aging them. From those photos I would say 3.5 on both to maybe 4.5 on the bottom one.

They appear to be in great body condition for this time of year. Maybe your rut is over and they have had some time to put a little meat back on their bones.
Agree they look like different deer. I'd hate to have to put a number on them age wise from those photos, but neither strike me as old or mature.

I hunt trinity county. If that's where you hunt, you know it kicks out some bruisers and has for years. Both probably 3.5. Top one could be 2.5. Neither is a 4 year old.

I think two different deer also. I guess 4.5 for the top one. 3.5 for the bottom buck.

Bucks at this time of the year look nothing like they did back in Oct. no matter what part of the state they live in or how much rain/feed they have available. ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2019/02/full-21480-177803-wgi_0093.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2019/02/full-21480-177804-02020004.jpg)

That is a great pair of pictures for comparison STx. I would agree that the original deer in question are certainly different animals and would still guess younger, 4.5 or less, rather than old deer.

Age matters not, that is an east Texas deer that will be poached within the week. He’s prolly 4 yall quit with the etx hate lol Two different bucks, both 3.75 yrs old. Brother in laws girlfriends ex uncle in law is a biologist so I'm pretty sure down to the 1/4 of a year. Either way Trinity county can help you out with some much bigger than that teehee...like this ol boy right here (not my pick, but from trinity county/houston county border) ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2019/02/full-63093-178851-12227788_596932020462498_3695747896621586009_n.jpg)
