For the price I think it should have some type of varmint cage between coons and hogs I could see them ripping the bottom plate off or bending it I could be wrong but I dont like it just being open around it.

It works much better then a cage. They can’t rip it off no way for them too. Only thing I don’t like about buccees/ASF Is exposed motor. Simple fix. Reason most feeder companies are going to the plate design and away from cages

Built this one. I like having 2 feeders. Each feeder feeds in the morning and evening, that way if 1 grits the other will keep feeding.

The only real design flaw with the Bucee's feeder is the motor and wiring being exposed at the bottom. The spinner being sandwiched between the two plates is the way to go. Coons don't have arms/legs that long and corn will disperse much farther. Build this... https://shop.lamcofeeders.com/collections/corn-feeders/products/600-lb-low-throw-corn-feeder

Anyone know the diameter of the bottom plate? I have been toing around with building a feeder and think that I can incorporate this into it an do away with the cage.

That bottom plate is roughly the same size as the feeder width/height (maybe an inch smaller) I replaced my lid when it blew off and I remember it being 26" X 26"

I made a varmint plate out of an old barrel lid. I think it is approximately 15" wide with a hole in the center to accommodate the spinner on the elimininator spinner plate. When the spinner plate is closed it allows you to elevate the varmint plate. Mine is on a 55 gallon barrel .

I have the all seasons stand and fills 600lbs. I love them. We put the eliminator spinner plate on them. They are rodent proof.
