I’m considering selling a 2013 Honda rancher 420FM 4x4. I bought it from a family member and now I’m looking to sell it to clear out some room in my shop. I just don’t know what the value of it is. It has a winch and is in great shape. Color is red. If anyone could give me some opinions on its value I would appreciate it. I’ve looked on nada etc and comps online but the range is pretty large. I would say it’s in “very good shape”
Thank you again.

Did a quick search and looks like the range is pretty broad with most being in the mid-$4K range. KBB on ATVs seems to me to err on the low side - again, my opinion. I considered trading my UTV last year and the dealer offered me less than half for the trade than I regularly see them sell for online - so that is an even worse route. Personally I have had really good luck selling ATVs and Motorcycles on Craigslist. Might be worth listing and it is worth what someone will pay...

I also use KBB as a base.
It's generally closer on thrasher type ATV/UTVs that have been raced, abused, etc. and a bargaining tool

Also, ATVs from the big 4 Japanese companies (Honda, Kawasaki, Yamaha, Suzuki) tend to hold more value longer.
A Honda Rancher 4x4 is one of the more sought after utility class ATVs because with a little maintenance, you can't kill it and it will run forever.
It's not made to go fast or handle like a thoroughbred but will get you there all day, every day for years to come.

Cheers,

If it has less than say,150 hours / 1500 miles on it or less , then $4000 may be reasonable, but it is still 6 years old, so keep that in mind! $3500 to $3800 may make it move faster!

A lot of people are making the move to side by sides now so the 4 wheeler market is kind of soft at the moment. I wont try to put a value on it without seeing it in person but just remember there are lots of used 4 wheelers on the market right now so you are going to have to motivate people to want to come see yours instead of the other dozens on the market in any given area. I would price it on the low end of what its worth and move very little on the price. You price it like all the other ones and its going to be hard to get someone out there to look at it.
