35 cal on a blown out 223 case. A upper in 35 cal? Interesting.
I see dead hogs.

It's certainly an interesting concept. Time tells all, of course.

I would like to see some ballistics on it

It ought to be comparable to a 357 Maximum, which might finally make a AR into a legitimate deer rifle. bolt

But for the straight wall regulations in some markets, they should have standardized the 358 MGP instead.

I developed that about 3 years ago . It works fine in a regular AR-15 . It is also very nice in a light , short action bolt rifle . Yes you have 30/30 power in an AR or mini bolt rifle . The best loads are the 180 at 2200 and a 200 at 2100 . A 180 xtp at sub-sonic works much better than a 300 bo . It hits game harder than about anything you can put in an AR-15 . Works great with short barrels . It is a great kid / wife combo . Low felt recoil , no muzzle blast . It has been one of my most popular wildcats .

150 gr, 2325 fps muzzle energy according to Winchester. Here's my take on this. States that have "straight walled cartridge" rules for hunting have created a need where there was no need previously. Outside of states with those rules, I just don't see a benefit for this one...

Seems like a whole lot more power than a 300 BO, with the same benefits; mags, bolts etc all being the same as 223. I may have to get one.

If factory ammo becomes common I will build an upper and let the wife and kids hunt deer and pigs with it..... I think it’s a pretty sweet little cartridge

learn something new everyday and you will have never wasted a day.

That's the FPS; Muzzle energy is 1800ft/lbs down to 903 @200 yards. Will hit harder out to 100, but beyond that the Grendel and 6.8 will outdo it.

Much ado about nothing.

That was kinda my point. Does not look like you are gaining much of anything from this cartridge other than the fact that it can be used to hunt in states where you can only hunt with a straight walled case.

The 150 grain bullet is not what I designed the cartridge for . I got 2350 fps with the 158 , but it did not have the range of the 180 due to the bc and it would blow up upon impact on pigs . It would even blow up on jacks , that was a mess . The 180 hits harder than the 300bc or 6.8 out to 150 yards . The 200 spire point will go 200 yards easy . A buddy with one went 14 for 14 on pigs one night , no run offs [ and that is shooting off hand , in the dark and moving targets , so shot placement is not always the best ] . He was never better than 50% with the 300 bo and the 6.8 was just a little better than that . Winchester is just saying bolt gun for now . I was the only source for AR-15 uppers , but I am sure others will start .

For a bolt gun, instead of a new cartridge, why not just a .35 remington? This round sounds similar to a .35 rem.

I'm a fan of just about any 35. They don't usually sell well here in the U.S. though.

I did not use 35 Rem because the cartridge was for both a bolt rifle and the AR-15 . The 35 Rem will not allow you to use a regular .223 AR-15 lower , bolt and mag . Like I said , I have been doing this for 3 years but others would follow . I should be the only one with 3 years worth of testing and field reports .

I bought a 9 mm can for my 357 mag from Shark Precision. David said it would have no problem handling my high pressure rifle loads. Also going to use it on 300 BO, which he said would be no problem. Now...still waiting on NFA paperwork, but I would assume that it would hold up to this as well.
