If you have to buy one that is built I would go Wilson combat. They are very pricey but very nice.
But if you want the perfect 6.8 for about $1500 then you purchase an upper from Blackstone Arms. He will build it any way you want and then build your own lower. You dont need any tools and a lower is easy to put together. Geiselle trigger of your choice. The exact stock you want. I would also get a geiselle charging handle. Save the rest for a nightforce on top and ammo. I just need a cheap thermal pig hunting gun that will be suppressed

cheap and guns shouldnt be used in the same sentence. I don't want a piece of junk by any means, but 1500 should buy me a really good ar.

The weight is also a plus OP...listen to BIL, he knows what has talking about. I shot his rifle last week, it's a shooter.
I am still looking for the perfect apron, one with reinforced knee areas would be perfect.

yeah, you can build a very nice, rifle for around 1500 with all "the good stuff" I have 4 Wilson Combat complete rifles but I get a smoking deal on them... you can buy all the same parts and build it yourself for much less.
I just did a complete build on their site and it's right under 1500 I saved it as a PDF file if anyone wants it

If you have to buy one that is built I would go Wilson combat. They are very pricey but very nice and worth the price. But if you want the perfect 6.8 for about $1500 then you purchase an upper from Blackstone Arms. He will build it any way you want and then build your own lower. You dont need any tools and a lower is easy to put together. Get the Geiselle trigger of your choice and the exact stock you want. I would also get a geiselle charging handle. Save the rest for a nightforce on top and ammo. You get less when you buy a fully built rifle as opposed to putting it together yourself. The hard part in building a rifle is the upper and Blackstone has dozens if not hundreds of AR68's sold on this site alone. Mine is a tack driver. It is sub MOA but unfortunately I am not. LOL Well said-exactly what I did.

So exactly what do you guys put your 2k dollar AR's through? I do have one in 308 that is well north of 3k, but I also have a 700 dollar AR-15 that I built many decades ago that is my main shooter. I am sure some of the high dollar ones can shoot a tighter group than my beat around AR, but my AR-15's and Tavors are for self defense, so I don't care about .5 MOA groups out of a AR-15. If I can hit 300 yards unsupported and it functions it is all I need. Just trying to figure out what yall use the expensive AR's for?
