I went home to Big Spring to hunt crane with my old bud O’Brian. We were in the birds all weekend with easy limits. They were working our deeks perfect. Can’t wait to be back out the 18th for a long weekend of hunting.

Went to Big Spring this weekend. Driving to the farm looked promising and then absolutely nothing 5 mikes down the road. It's so beautiful I almost forget to shoot when I see dove and the Sandhill have that way of calling and can't for the life of me find them in the sky. Nice to see you bag some.

In your first pic, what kind of decoys are that, where it looks like they're feeding? Homemade?

Those are painted goose shells that they cut strips out of a plastic barrel to make the head/neck section.

I've never been crane hunting. Are they good to eat and do you treat them like Duck/geese?
