I was thinking of setting up some motion-sensor lights around a couple of feeders, and was wondering about how this has worked for other hog hunters.
My first thought was to keep things cheap and simple: using the standard motion-sensor lights with a solar panel that you might have above your porch or garage for a night light. The lights are white and bright, and my thinking was that the first few times that would scare the hogs but after several encounters they would get used to it. Has anybody tried bright white lights on motion-detectors, and if so, do the hogs eventually acclimate and feed?
The other option is to go for dimmer red or green lights specifically designed for hog hunting. If it's necessary to go that route, what do people here recommend for decent price combined with quality and ease of use/installation (portability is key, in case I need to switch from one feeder site to another).
Thanks!

The critters don't mind a bright white light, but I have yet to find a motion activated solar light that will last. Been buying the for years.

I got "The Boar Light" recently. Hasn't been up long, but has worked well so far. Shocked how fast the hogs got used to it (literally came that night and hung around the feeder).
It was a bit pricey, but feels well built. I installed it on a Sunday and it was working the following weekend even after a cloudy week. I can see it from the travel trailer at a feeder 200 yards away. Real fun to look out the window every couple minutes and grab the binoculars when it gets brighter. Would've popped a hog from it already... but had a few to many beers to feel comfortable shooting.

Is there a straightforward way to mount it on the legs or side of a feeder?

Got three Boar Lights and mounted last week. Easy setup on T-Post. Took maybe 15 minutes. Comes with everything you need except t-post and hex keys.

Wildgame Innovations moonshine. Cheap and simple. Took the hogs a week or 2 to get used to the green light. They would still come to feeder but would stay outside of the light beam. Now they don't care. Have only been using it since Sep 2018 so can't speak on their longevity. But so far so good.

It's not clear from the photo or product description - I assume that I need some sort of bracket with threaded screws?

It comes with a bracket that's meant to be mounted on a pole - but mounts easily on a t-post too. Not sure how it'd mount on your feeder if the legs were square (as mine are). I'd suggest getting a t-post so you can position it where the light hits where the most corn is. I currently have a capsule feeder setup where my Boar Light is. Planning on swapping it with a crank down feeder so I don't end up shooting the capsule.

I mounted one a little higher so it lights up a larger area. I screwed a small piece of 2x4 to a PVC pipe and then screwed the light to the 2x4.. Then zip tied the PVC pipe to a T-Post a few feet from the feeder.
