OK you have to worry about all of your stuff getting stolen by methheads; TX you just have to worry about your neighbor shooting all your young bucks

Could be a good option but know that the gun season in 14 days. Bow season is as long as ours. They have some big deer.

One big difference that you need to know. Rifle season in OK starts the Saturday before Thankgiving, and only goes for 15 days. There is a late does season around Christmas too. If you want to hunt much in OK, you better like hunting with a bow!

This year rifle season for whitetail was only about 14 days where in Texas rifle season is about 60 days on average. Yes you can hunt more days if you use a bow, muzzleloader seasons but you need to buy another license for that. To hunt all seasons is about $1,000 in license's.

You can use a crossbow during bow season in Oklahoma. Still different than a gun, but it isn’t as much work as a bow as long as you get a good Xbow.

Thanks y’all, good to know. I think I would do rifle since I’m a beginner. Is it mostly lease up there? Or does it have more public land?

There’s public lands just like in Texas but just like Texas most of the stare is privately owned so leasing will be the way to go up there. But there are public lands available to hunt.

I’ve been rifle hunting in OK for a few years now
I recommend getting a bow as I am finally going to get one this year
The rifle season is short
You have to E Check your kills, which is easy and takes maybe 5 min at the most but just be aware
