I'm in the market for a new one.
What vest do yall like?
I'm looking at the banded big stone upland oxford vest. Anyone have it? Do you like it?

It really depends on how much you walk, how much you need to carry and how big the bids you hunt are. Quail hunting I use a King Ranch belt bag. It will handle a bottle of water, half a limit, a folding bowl and shells. On the prairie, where birds are bigger and you may need to carry more water and clothing I have a cabala's upland pro. There you may be carrying four large birds, more water and a jacket or sweater. When you start carrying more, adjustments and chest straps become more important. You may want to carry a water badder. However, my next strap pack may be a Tenzing’s BV16. Probably the priciest on the market but it carries a lot, the bird bag is easier to access than the Cabelas and the weight distribution is better. Good strap pack/vst lasts a long while you might as well spend a little and get the top of the line.

I just got a BV16 for Christmas and it's awesome. I've used it once already and you barely even notice birds in the bag. I'd definitely recommend it.

I've got a bunch of them. My favorite is a Filson Shelter cloth strap vest. It's old school and pretty spartan. I like the way it rides and I don't feel it when shouldering or shooting a shotgun. It wii easily carry a limit of big prairie birds. It does not get hot. The only thing I don't like is no shell loops in the pockets.

Short walk or getting in and out of a quail buggy = King Ranch or Filson canvas strap vest Long walks with extra water & gear, as Mundo suggested, I have a Wing Works and it is awesome. Tons of storage, well built and well designed to keep the load distributed between your hips and shoulders.

I have 3 of the old carhartt hunting vests I think they are the best ever made. Sometime you can find them on eBay.

Wingworks is the alpha and omega if you are a hardcore foot hunter.
In dog beers, I've only had one.

I seldom use one anymore because I mostly now hunt from a vehicle.

I ended up going into orvis yesterday and getting their pro series vest. I think it will work great and looking forward to using it for many seasons.
