Tested 2 rifles today. Both were assembled by me. First one has a PSA 20" 1:9 barrel. Second has a Columbia River Arms 22" 1:9 barrel.

PSA did good with 45 grains CFE 223 with a 139 Hornady soft tip. 8208 XBR did well with 39.7 grains behind a Nosler 140 grain BT. Groups were .44 and .47 with the PSA. I wasn't expecting that good of a group. Both velocities were about 2875

Second rifle did good with 40.5 H4895 with a 140 Nosler BT. Group measured .159. The thing that kind of disappointed me was that the velocity out of the 22" barrel was only around 2850 fps. I was getting that with my 20" barrel using the other loads this rifle didn't like. Given that this barrel did more than twice as good as the PSA barrel; I may buy another and unload the PSA. I need to play around with those powders for a bit.

Good shooting with both barrels. AR's often shoot very well.

Thanks sir. Never had shot either of the brands of barrels before, so I was a little nervous of the results. 22” doesn’t seem long at all for this platform.

Another thing to note for those interested is that between the Midwest Industries and Surefire brake; the MI felt like it reduced recoil more.

Didn’t look to have anything wrong with it.

I thought groups were supposed to be measured from center of hole to center of hole, not outside to outside?

Uprisings started or quelled, tornadoes rerouted, elections rigged.
