Almanac said a cold, wet winter. Looks like we are going to get it, but it’s not helping migration so far.
I just turned it on . I was looking bird dogs in the butt this morning.

I do not like hunting in the rain. But I’m getting old. I'm pretty sure you're like me and hunt several times a week. Having to get everything dried out is a PITA I don't want to deal with if I don't gotta. Nothing worse than putting on gloves on a cold morning and they're still wet. Plus ducks work better on sunny days. I do like the fact that cloudy or rainy days they tend to work longer and more spread out.

Nothing worse than putting on gloves on a cold morning and they're still wet. Here's a tip from your uncle Guy. Put truck heat on high, defrost on, and put gloves on dash, and anything else that is wet.... it will be dry in no time. It will dry clothes faster than your dryer at home.

Hunting in the rain sucks. Hunting in heavy sleet and snow isn't bad. I have had some great hunts in blowing sleet and snow. Guy was with me on one of the ugliest days at Lake X a few years ago. We wore them out. Being wet and cold is a lot more tolerable when the ducks are falling out of the sky.
