I would be thinking of some Tannerite sitting on top of an upturned five gallon on the middle of that dock.

Congrats on the new place! I'm just up the road in Scurry and looked hard around cedar creek. The local population kinda scared us off but it's changing fast. If you need any help clearing out any ducks let me know!

Looks like a nice quiet place. Those are double crested cormorants and have migrated in from as far north as Canada. All you have to do is walk down there and they’ll leave. Put up a scarecrow while you’re gone. They’ll leave in a couple months on their own. Power washer should clean up the whitewash left behind. I see catfish filets in your future.
