Buddy had one on his Remington 5R. Worked, but sure was ugly. He later had the barrel threaded and put an Advanced Armament on it. Make sure you get good measurements when ordering.

Luckily I'm a function over looks kind of guy. I agree its ugly but is if effective? Customer reviews say so.

I'll measure my barrel with my calipers tonight.

I have no experience with the brake you posted and it wasn't included in the following test but I encourage you to review it anyhow: http://precisionrifleblog.com/2015/06/24/muzzle-brakes-field-test/. I know the competition could have changed since this was published in 2015 but I bet generally speaking it's still pretty relevant.

Do it right the first time. If that's the Witt you posted than great. I'm a function over form guy as well.

I use American Precision Arms Little Bastard Gen 1 (https://www.americanprecisionarms.com/products/gen-1-little-bastard).

I have one. Looks funky on my 300 win mag but it works. Recoil is way down, and noise way up. Mine didn't fit 100% right (my fault for the quick measurement) but I helped it with a little loctite.

I thought about getting one at one time. I decided I would rather get it threaded and then add a brake. I ended up getting it threaded and the went with a suppressor.

It is far more important to be able to hit the target than it is to haggle over who makes a weapon or who pulls a trigger.

Glad to hear this.

I had the Witts on a 7mm mag and a 300 win mag....cut the recoil greatly....sold the 2 rifles to inlaws and they love the muzzle brakes....
