So I shot a great buck with a lot a velvet fragments on the rack that is all hard and dried...some of it, I’ve pulled off with my fingers. I’d like to really clean up both sides of the tines with something like warm water, power washing, or some other method?? Any ideas?

Looks like he had some gonad problems before he was ready to shed. Good luck.

Soak it.

Recently got a gym membership, strange folks! I like to show up the roid zombies with my full motion curls with the 55lb. bells. Not their cheater short stroked light weights. It's holarious.

If it is dried out maybe leave it...it looks cool. I shot a record book Muley for early Muzzleloader in Colorado one year. It was in velvet but started stinking...I set it outside to dry out, but the smell wouldn't leave.

Bury it for about 6 weeks to let nature do it.

Why don't we have time to do things right the first time, but always have time to do things over, and over, and over?

Great deer. I'm would mount that dude just as he was when you shot him. The deer in my pic below is the same and it's what I like about him most.

warm soapy water and just scrub it. did the same to an injured buck we shot 3 or 4 years ago no biggie and won't ruin anything.

My vote is to leave it alone. Nock the big pieces off and mount it. If you rub, scrub, soak you'll loose the color/patina of the horn.
