Hi I’m a new hunter in the DFW area. Was told to ask on here about hunting mentors and for finding spots to hunt at. Any and all advice is welcome

Welcome. One of the best ways to learn is to get out in the field. Check out the outfitters section and look for some inexpensive meat hunts to start with. That way, you get some help (hopefully) from a good guide on tips, techniques, field dressing and game care. You also have the plus side of putting some good stuff in the freezer.

Excellent suggestion after you get a few hunts in then look on our Land and Lease section. Welcome and good luck

Welcome to the wonderful world of the out doors. Hopefully you will nurture the addiction that we are all enjoying and sharing You have national forest a few hours away. But the state hunting access pass and get in the field.

Welcome to hunting and the forum. A lot of good suggestion have already been made. I would also began to continiuosly work on shooting skills. If you hadn't already, Choose a rifle caliber that is an all around (plenty of them) and get instruction and spend a lot of time at the range. This can easily be done but is ignored by a lot.
