I am a 7mm-08 junkie, don't deny it.

You've seen the large cultivated fields around my place, as well as the length of the range. Far shots do happen. The 7mm is better at that. Currently, I'm toting my LR-308 and my 7 Rem Mag, in the truck, then move them into the shop. If I rebarreled, I might be able to just bring the LR-708 wink

Once my new can arrives (which is way shorter than my current one) I may very well screw on a Krieger 7mm-08. That will be a higher quality barrel than the DPMS .308, for sure. And I can go to a 20" barrel and still hold the same muzzle length I am currently running with a 16" barrel and 10" long suppressor.

I have never seen an AR in 30-06 and would be curious to how it works in an autoloader.

Look up BAR, Browning Automatic Rifle. Seemed to work pretty well for our side in WWII.

Well, yeah, because everyone needs a 300 Ultra Mag to shoot dangerous whitetails at 87 yards, under a corn feeder. Duh.

Ron Spomer isn’t my favorite writer but this made me chuckle. I agree with his comparison with the .308.

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.
