Bought a quad pod. Its not going into play this year just the sidelines. To late in the game. Would you set it up in during the game or wait till after the season? What I mean by side lines is it will be away from all feeders and other stands and wont cause a flag setting it up.

Set it up now and hunt it in December. Depending on what part of the state you could hunt it in 7-14 days. I wouldn’t be afraid of putting it by a feeder other than your opening weekend spot

In my area you can set up a blind today, put up a feeder tomorrow and by Friday you will have deer at the feeder.

set up a feeder Sunday night and deer were on it before day light. Tower blind may go up this week. Just have to do it when you can do it. No harm if you have another spot to hunt

agree, set it up and the deer will show up. With all the rains, we will be setting up a new stand & feeder this weekend after the morning hunt, in a new location, and I would bet deer will be on it by the next morning.

I would put the stand up now. I visit my feeders and cameras all the time and deer will show up at the feeders 2 hours later. I bought a X-Stand 22’ Talon 2-man ladder stand and it was missing parts, so I had to wait to get them and will be finally putting it up next week. I should get a good amount of time in the stand between now and through muzzleloader season. Then we will get some time in hog hunting out of it. So there is still a lot of time left to use your new stand. I would put it up now and enjoy it. Have a great season!

About 2 months ago I set a shell type blind near one of my feeders. Deer stopped hitting it for about a month until they got used to it, was already thinking it was a huge mistake.
A few weeks ago I put a pop up blind off one of our roads, threw some corn and set a trial camera. Had deer on it that evening! Guess it just depends, the same deer that were hitting the feeder were hitting the road corn.

We finally got the 2-man ladder stand up 2 weeks ago. I plan on hunting out of it this week. Deer were walking by it by the next morning. There are very few people hunting in my buddies neighborhood were I hunt. So there isn’t a lot of pressure on them. Have a great season!

Yea, I hunt in Coryell County TX & you could put a stand and feeder out in the morning & I swear you would see deer that afternoon!! Never to late to put out Stand or Feeder in my opinion.

Thanks for the replies guys. I did put up the stand but no feeder and first sit got busted by a coyote. Have not hunted it much this season because with all this rain the seats stay wet. Have two cameras out there now that I will check Sunday.

The effect will vary depending on where you are. Our ranch has constant activity on a daily basis. We were using the tractor to put up a stand and had deer feeding and watching us from less than 50 yards away.
