Excellent. We are a little further west than that and we have heard the same thing. I am probably going to do the all day rattling bit.

Thought I would post this again, I've put it up a couple times over the years. This happen Thanksgiving weekend 4 years ago on a ranch west of town. I had done a couple of rattling sets with no luck, and stood up to leave this set when he came busting out of the brush. I had already moved form my hiding spot so I just laid on the ground. I could tell he needed another year or 2 so I pulled my phone out and started videoing. Enjoy.

I have hunted hard all weekend and man it’s been slow. Not much movement, just young bucks coming to the feeders. I feel like the first rut is over already. In a blind now and the movement has been better than the last two days. Lots of pigs. My 11 year old took a doe last night.

I hunted hard all last week, all we had were young bucks, and does. I think our lease is a couple years away from getting consistent, mature bucks back.

Atta boy Coble Crew!
We had a really nice 8 taken and a pass on a 150 class 10. We knew the 10 was the one from the game camera, but it was just too dark to make an ethical shot. a lot of new deer have showed up, but the old ones are staying in the bushes or tending does.

Thanks bulltide. We had a great day in the blind, good amount of activity, topped off by that pretty good buck in the evening. My son had a great time, and I’m so excited getting him out to enjoy God’s creations at the lease. So happy to have him with me, makes hunting so much more enjoyable! He has had hunting fever ever since we left, always asking when we are going back. He said he told all his friends today at school about our trip and all the deer we saw. I can’t stop smiling!
