Does anyone have any experience with this collar? Pro's or Con's? or recommend a tracker collar in the same price range?

I think it's great!!! My friend has the Garmin Alpha and we did a range test. He lost signal at a mile and I lost signal at 3 miles after dropping over a pretty good drop in elevation. I got myself a waterproof lanyard that I hook to my vest for easy access to my phone. The history playback of the hunt is cool and if you can use a smartphone you already have it mastered. Some have worried about the phone going dead I haven't had an issue with that. The only con that I have is with my phone it is a iPhone 7 plus. I wish I still had my smaller iPhone 7. easier to use one hand. I would recommend this to anyone!!!!

What if you don’t have any signal for your cell phone? It seems to be common issue when quail hunting.

I've had one for about a year.
I pulled it out once, but its tough for me to see the phone screen in bright sunlight.
I either need to start using it, or get rid of it.

If you decide to get rid of it let me know, Im not too far from you.

It says no cell signal needed, just need to download the area your hunting from google maps. I think the collar connects to a receiver you wear on your belt and your phone connects to the receiver via bluetooth.

I'm going to put it on the dog one more time.
If I'm not happy with it (due to my eyesight isn't use to be), its yours for $200.

I was recently in the market for a GPS collar and being on a college budget the Pathfinder was on my list. I ended just saving a little more for the Alpha. Lion Country Supply sells refurbished units for $150 off. That's the route I went and my Alpha looks brand new to me. I have only used it hunting once and so far I am happy with it. Just another option to consider.

Yeah no cell service is needed. You can down load the area or areas before you loose cell service and put your phone on airplane. I’m very happy with it. I gave $345.00 for mine on amazon. Training features are nice. I hunt a Brittany and they can be pretty soft dogs. Adjustability from 1-100 on the shock feature is nice. 2 second refresh rate on the gps is really nice to when the little voice on your phone starts telling you dog on point!!!! Oh another feature I like is shake mode. You can just shake your phone to go between your map, compass and training features. It is a really thought out product.

I got my pathfinder (my first gps collar) in December last year and have had good luck with it. We used it on several 2 day hunts and it did not drain my battery as bad as I thought it would and didn't need service since I downloaded the area I was hunting while I still had service.
