neighbor has a camera on my feeder its on his property makes me wonder if he is hunting my feeder. what do you think. So you’re hunting a fence line? nope not hunting a fence line. i can see the fence most of the deer come from his side WTF!!?? Please re-read the exact quoted text. And you still think 50 yards is NOT hunting the fence line? Sounds like the pot calling the kettle black here. It's about like someone I know who is a hard core Democrat that carries a gun daily, but yet votes for Democrats that have a hard anti Second Amendment. It makes no sense!

you guys are overreacting...
This dude is clearly hunting HIS property and simply watching his neighbor's property. He intends to shoot them pesky deer once they clear the common property line and has no intention of hunting a fenceline as barbed wire and t-posts are hell on the digestive tract.

Sounds like he may be looking to see if you are going onto his property or shooting deer off his side of the fence maybe?

If you're sitting on the fence shooting deer, you're hunting the fence line :P If you are 50 yards away - you are not hunting the fence line. Think of it this way...50 yards, in MOST states, would be far enough away from a road to not be considered as shooting from the road If it's good enough to apply to roads, it's good enough to apply to fences.

50 yards from my fence line would be hunting my fence line in my book. Easy to solve. Surely there are other places to hunt or just talk to the neighbor, state your intentions, and work it out. A neighbor you get along with is much better than the alternative.

I just find it entertaining that people think their neighbors need permission to hunt their own property....that [censored] cracks me up. Let me be the first to say that I'll do whatever I please with any of my properties around the country (so long as such activity is not illegal) and it will be a cold day in hell before I ask permission from my neighbors to do something on MY property ROFL. There's nothing to work out - property rights trump your feelings about what I do on my property LOL. If any of my neighbors ever have a problem, I'm more than happy to let a court tell them to piss off You people are nuts.

It clearly explains one of the key reasons why high fences exist. Whenever a resource is being purposely drained off, you plug the hole.

It's a trail camera - it doesn't mean he's watching you, it sounds like it might be a travel route for deer moving between the properties and he is just getting intel on the local-area deer. So what?

I once had, at my home, a neighbor climbing a fence onto my property and walking by my home on my property, right in front of a No Tresspassing sign, to look at their home being built because they were too lazy to drive the long way around from their relative's house. Many on here said I was overeacting and being un-neighborly.
Easy to preach when it's not happenning to you. Some wanted to make sure you knew they were "landed gentry", as I see above.

The problem is that you see someone else doing as they please with THEIR property as "me me me"....but the truth is that the person who complains about what other people are doing with their property are the "me me me" people. They're so stuck in their own world they believe they have the right to interfere with another man's property rights. If you don't like property rights, move to a communist country, this is America son - property rights mean something.

Well that's just it right...a man can do with his property whatever he pleases, so long as it's not illegal... A man wants to put up a high fence, I say let them do it.

I hope you told him to never do it again or you would be taking issue with his actions. It's not un-neighborly to expect people to respect your property rights and be pissed when they don't.

That is probably true. Most property owners don't really give two [censored] what other people are doing on their property, esp. when it comes to hunting. Some people just get crazy about that "fence line" nonsense. I would highly doubt he's doing anything other than what you suggest, gathering deer intel - no doubt any deer on that feeder are crossing both properties.

My neighbor was there first and one side of his feeder pen was the fence between our properties. his stand was facing towards my camp. I put a flag pole in camp and the first thing we did was raise the flag so they new we were there. Since we were there so much they eventually moved the stand to face the parallel to the fence. I did the same on my side. We shot plenty of deer there. A couple of times we shot pigs at the same time. I'd let a few get under the fence to the feeder then bust the stragglers while he took the one in the feed pen out. I didn't buy corn for 3 years and he could recover game that jumped into my property after a phone call of course.
Sometimes it's hard being me! But somebody has to do it.

I don't care about people hunting a fence line - but people have to be shooting in a different direction than the property on the other side of the fence :P It's a 'do what you want on your property' as far as I'm concerned - but if your bullets start flying onto someone else's property - now you're screwing with their property. As far as collecting a shot animal that crossed the line - that actually doesn't bother me. The right thing to do is to give the owner a call and get permission so that it's not trespassing (that's what I would do - but never really been in that situation since I don't hunt anywhere close to property lines). But I'd personally ignore a trespass for someone collecting game that wasn't shot on my property. I'd rather people be able to collect their dead game than it go to waste. Good you guys have a friendly understanding going on though.
