Great deed sir. Was the other side broken off already? No he had both of his antlers. If you will look way to the left in the grass you can see the tips of the other antler.

ok....I'm the devil's advocate here because I think you were right to step in and help the animal out, but what were the circumstances involved that made you make the decision to cut the antler off and not just simply remove the rope and barbwire? If the saw will cut antler it will cut rope right?....again not trying to stir up trouble, just curious!!

Good job and very ethical... and since you were not 'hunting' game animal with a drugged projectile, I'd argue is not illegal if GW comes knocking.

I did not answer this right away because for one it pissed me off and second it actually was non of your business. The reason I darted the Buck was because he was getting extra stuff caught up in his antlers. This had been going on for some time. People normally make decisions of two types. First is necessity and the second is because you want to. I chose to dart the Buck because I thought it was necessary, If myself or someone else did nothing chances are sooner or later the Buck would have got tangled up and not got loose. I choose to cut off his antlers because first I wanted too and second because I didn't want any one like you gut shooting him.

Well my apologies sir if it ticked you off. But I believe you are being a little sensitive. I told you I thought you did the right thing by stepping in and helping the deer out. In addition if it is none of my business why did you post it on the world wide web. I just simply wanted to know why you cut the entire antler off instead of the stuff tangled up in the antler. My question was only based on curiosity because we are headed into the rut and I would think that those antlers would be useful in the upcoming months. I trusted your judgement. Just wanted to know the circumstances behind that decision. I will accept that you did it because you "wanted to." Thank you for your post and all the other posts of your stuff that I read. I will refrain from any questions that are of a sensitive nature in the future. Again, my apologies if I offended you in any way. God Bless.

Not to question your judgement, just wondering what made you choose removal of the antler over removal of the trash. Glad Rock asked first so he got both barrels. Geez.

Good man Don, very likely saved his life. I took a photo several years ago of a buck with a volleyball net in his horns! If I can find it I'll share it! Take care sir, Baker

He simply asked why you cut the antler off instead of cutting the rope and barb wire. Then you came back with both barrels. Why? Maybe you're just having a bad day...maybe you are a donkey's behind.
