just me- the folks that hunt from an enclosed blind, especially an elevated blind don't need any special "hunting" clothes. i'd be wearing my everyday comfortable clothing and be covered up with a cheap $14.00 sleeping bag to stay warm. it doesn't take a fraction of a second to let the bag drop free to get ready for a shot. anyway from what i read here and other places, there are many who sleep and diddle with their phones while "hunting" instead of watching for deer. that can be done while wearing neon striped sweats as opposed to any kind of special cammo "hunting" clothes. I only wear camo when I am dove or duck hunting. A couple years back I took a pic of me and a buck and I was wearing a white flannel that had bright colors splashed through it. It amazed me how many folks saw the pic and were confused as to how the deer didn't see me in that shirt, duh they can't see you in a blind, thats how most folks hunt!

Atwoods has become my favorite place for warm clothing, gloves, socks and jackets. Most of it is Carhartt. Most of the time it's pricey, but they have so many 40% off sales that it's almost impossible not to buy something. I've also found some really good deals at Walmart for wool socks. Super heavy, 100% wool for much less then other stores.

My argument for wearing camo clothes while hunting from a blind is that camo doesent really stain when you get blood on it.
Ruined a lot of clothes by spattering them with blood....no I just wear camo and avoid the whole ordeal.
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

If I can't get it at Academy then to heck with it. My blind is camo enough

Avoid brands are have "realtree" tag and other nonsense approved and attached since everyone is getting a license fee to have it in/on the clothing line. Overpriced merchandise is what you're paying for. Plain excess military gear works better than any of the "teflon-coated/triple enameled/armored scented/Superman waterproof..." ALL Bravo Sierra!

This store is opening in the Colony in 2020. They have one in Loveland Colorado that I've been to twice. Holy Moly are they nice. They make BassPro and Cabelas look like a hardware store. Top quality guns and gear. Even have thermal and night vision products. It can take a day to walk through it all. https://www.scheels.com/the-colony.html

I remember buying some Maine Hunting Boots from LL Bean. Lots of great reviews. Well,my feet froze here in Texas and I had to avoid stepping on rocks. I called them and found that I was SOL. I put a bad review on their web site and it was removed within a day.

They are not advertised as waterproof but unless you submerge it they are. I did buy a underarmour jacket at Academy called underarmor storm, paid what I thought was a ridiculous price but it works better than advertised....water and windproof. its my duck hunting/fowl weather jacket. Most clothing I get are the Magellan line from Academy. I cannot force myself to buy Sitka or Kuiu although I believe in their products....I just don't do the kind of hunting that justifies it. until recently 90% of my hunting was done in Justin snake boots, wrangler jeans, a red or olive drab button up and a resistol hat.

I'm not much of a camo guy, so it's carhartt for me. Much of Cabelas/Bass Pro clothing anymore is cheapasss junk. It's a shame what has happened to Cabelas.

I dove hunt, duck hunt, deer hunt, hog hunt, elk hunt...you get the point...all in the same camo pattern. So for me, I'm going to buy the crap out of it by picking up a piece or two a year to compliment the system. You can say I'm brainwashed, but the good stuff doesn't fall apart, and you can't get away with solid colors hunting above the timber line in Colorado for elk/muleys.
If I was just sitting in an enclosed blind for 95% of my hunting then I would likely take a different path.

As long as you buy cheap chit made in shina, cheap as in "shoddy", you will be disappointed.

In wallyworld couple of years ago, found 100% heavy wool socks for 1$ a pair. I ask if the price was right lady said every department was aloud to adjust their in inventory at the end of every quarter. The rack had 15 pair on it, i took them out of the wool sock business.

Camo is really just for the other hunters unless you are hunting an open setup or still hunting.

Camo is really just for the other hunters unless you are hunting an open setup or still hunting. If you aren't wearing camo, how will I know who the other hunters are when I am eating breakfast in the cafe. That's the main reason for camo.

Its funny you say that b/c I almost edited my post after posting before. I meant I dont care about blood or tears in my Columbia/Carhart canvas pants, but I for damned sure regretted taking my nice First Lite hunting pants out to my East Texas Lease and scratching the hell out of them within 10 minutes of walking down to my stand. Those pants are strictly for open country hunting from now on b/c yea, those scratches hurt to look at haha

I get the feeling these big companies are starting to sell us over priced garbage with cool camo patterns. Not starting to, they've been doing it for a long time.

Seems we're only talking clothing, and I guess I've been lucky. But again, I only buy from either store when its on sale. And like garyrapp55, I too am funding retirement, mortgage, and two college funds. So, I buy stuff at Walmart, Academy, and big box store when its on-sale. And I'm not sold on the prices of Sitka, Kuiu, First lite, etc. I've read the comments about Sitka being great stuff and holding up, but that price point is beyond my wallet. And I'm disappointed in hearing about Dave Davidson's experience with LL Bean. My wife like to buy from them because of their exchange policy. Guess it only applies to clothing.
